The Degustha show

A not-to-be-missed event for all food-lovers! Salon Dégustha returns to the Cité de l’Automobile for the second time from 27 to 30 August. Enjoy this food fair, which brings together the worlds of gastronomy and motoring in one prestigious site.

 

The 22nd show will take place in the museum itself from Thursday 27 to Monday 31 August from 10.00 to 21.00 (22.00 for restaurants). Among the Bugatti Royales, Rolls-Royces and other high performance cars the setting will be conducive to a convivial atmosphere.

Visitors and exhibitors will be able to combine pleasures of the palate and a love of cars in prestigious surroundings.  In addition to its magnificent collection, the museum provides an ideal venue for wine tasting and sampling France’s traditional regional specialities.
                           

                                        
Top quality exhibitors and products
The Dégustha show has now been fulfilling its purpose of presenting a selection of the best regional products for over twenty years.  Sample, savour, enjoy… have been Dégustha’s keys to success since 1987.
                              
More than 200 exhibitors will move into the rooms of the museum to present their finest delicacies.  You will find not only wines and cheeses but all the flavours that give fine palates these constantly revitalised pleasures: Basque salt meats cured with Guérande unprocessed sea salt, as well as Luberon specialities and other Breton cakes and pastries.
Dégustha is a veritable fine food Tour de France: Ardèche, Corse, Auvergne, Alsace, Brittany, the Pyrenees as well as Savoy, all the French regions make sure they come to Mulhouse.
                                                                                                             
Lovers of wines and spirits will be spoilt for choice!  You will find the best vintages, Burgundy, Alsace and Roussillon wines, the great Bordeaux, Beaujolais, Touraines, Cotes du Rhône, etc.,  names as prestigious as St. Estèphe, Margaux, Pomerol, St. Emilion, etc., as well as a large selection of Champagnes, Muscats, Cognacs, Calvados, Armagnacs and brandies.
                                         

                                                                                                              
As well as wines and spirits, a dozen or so restaurants will welcome visitors and offer delicious regional dishes, including the sea food platter at l’Ecailler de la Presqu’ile, Hélène’s pan fried foie gras, Royan’s ravioli and of course, Maitre Anthony’s famous cheeseboard.
Hervé Paulus, a passionate supporter of traditional regional cooking, will be at the show introducing his delicious gourmet dishes.  He will also be presenting a preview of his new creation “Marmite & Co”. A themed dinner planned by the great chef will be served every day in the Museum’s prestigious restaurant.
                                     
In twenty years, Dégustha has welcomed over a million visitors to its fine food show. 2010 will be no exception – you are cordially invited to come and sample regional products as you look round the legendary Schlumpf collection at the Cité de l’Automobile.
